Advanced Medical Foot Care Vs Pedicure

Medical foot care and a pedicure are two different services that focus on the feet. A pedicure is a cosmetic treatment that is intended to improve the appearance of the feet and toenails. It typically includes soaking the feet in warm water, trimming and shaping the toenails, removing dead skin from the feet, and applying nail polish. Medical foot care, on the other hand, is a therapeutic treatment using a comprehensive dry procedure that is designed to address the health and well-being of the feet and is tailored to your unique needs. It involves an in-depth assessment of the feet, management of foot and nail conditions, such as calluses, corns, ingrown toenails, thickened and fungal nails . Additionally, advanced foot care helps those with conditions such as diabetes or peripheral vascular disease. We also provide education and advice on how to care for the feet properly and provide referrals (if needed). Medical foot care is performed by a trained healthcare professional and usually requires more specialized equiptment and instruments than a pedicure. Although we are not a spa and do not offer cosmetic pedicures, we strive to offer a moment for clients to relax and enjoy the appointment as much as possible. At the end of every session we offer a light lower extremity and foot rub with a professional (and diabetic safe) hydrating and reparative lotion to promote moisture and circulation. Clients love this part of the treatment!

Why Mountain Peak
Advanced Foot Care was Established

Working in healthcare and living in a rural community, it was evident that there is a need for more community resources; specifically, medical foot care. We recognize that some may not have the ability to access transporation into urban areas for care and a barrier exists. We have a strong belief that your health care services should not be impacted by location. Our company aims to bridge the gap that exists by creating this essential service. We recognize that many people develop problems with their feet that require specialized attention. Whether you require preventative, maintenance or more complex foot care needs, we wanted to be in a position to help our clients not only improve their quality of life but have them experience the difference that proper foot care can make and truly be at the  'peak' of foot health.
